A Glance at the Week Ahead

The gradual warm-up will continue into the upcoming workweek. The low temperature will be in the low to mid 20s to start the day on Monday, and highs will be in the low 40s with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. There will be a 5-15 mph southwest breeze. It will be mainly clear with lows in the 20s Monday night.

Clouds will increase on Tuesday as a storm system moves north through the Mid-Atlantic states. It looks like any rain will hold off through the day, and highs will be in the low 40s. Rain showers are possible Tuesday night, especially near the coast. We are not expecting heavy rain. Lows will be in the 30s.

Wednesday will become partly to mostly sunny with highs well into the 40s. If there is enough sunshine, the high temperature may get to 50°. It will be a breezy day. A cold front will move through late Wednesday or early Thursday, and the end of the workweek will be dry, but cooler.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs near 40. The temperature may dip into the teens early Friday before bouncing back into the mid 30s in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead to next weekend, a storm pulling out of the Southeastern United States will threaten New England with snow and/or rain. At this early stage, it looks like it may start as snow and sleet before changing to rain during the day on Saturday. The storm may linger with snow and/or rain possible on Sunday.
