The remarkable weather we have enjoyed for the past few days will stick around for at least one more day before we hit a speed bump (more like a pebble) early this weekend.
Wednesday night won’t be quite as cool as the past couple of nights, but it will by no means be muggy and mild. The temperature will fall into the mid to upper 50s by dawn under mostly sunny skies.
We’ll see a few clouds on Thursday – that’s a few more than we saw on Wednesday when it was just about wall to wall sunshine. Temperatures will rise into the mid 70s near the coast, and upper 70s to low 80s inland, with a southwesterly afternoon breeze.
Friday looks partly cloudy, with highs in the same ballpark as Thursday. It may be a bit cooler near the coast with a southeasterly wind.
We’ll see another Saturday cold front, but this one will be nothing like the one that brought severe weather to the Northeast last week. This time around, we may see a few passing showers, but most of the day will be dry. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. High pressure moves out of Eastern Canada and sets us up with a nice Sunday. It will feel like early fall, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s – perfect weather for the Patriots home opener at Gillette.
It should stay dry through Monday, but there is a very good chance of rain between Monday night and Tuesday night.

- The NCDC climate summary for summer (Jun-Aug) 2012 was released earlier this week. It was a warmer/wetter than normal summer in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, but the big extremes were in the Midwest and Rockies where it was extremely hot and very dry.
