The weekend is off to a cold start with temps in the teens Friday evening, and single digits to teens to start the day on Saturday. It will get a bit warmer Saturday afternoon as it nudges up into the low to mid 30s with sun and clouds, and an active breeze. Sunday will not be nearly as cold in the morning with lows in the 20s, and it should reach the mid to upper 30s in the afternoon.
There is decent potential for the temperature to reach the 40s to 50s on Monday and Tuesday. Right now, Tuesday looks like the warmest day of the next week with highs in the 50s. I’m always a little leery of February warm-ups, but this one looks pretty solid.
It will turn cooler and likely stay dry through Wednesday. Look for highs in the 30s. A storm system coming through late Thursday into Friday will likely bring a lot more rain than snow, but it’s still early in the game. The pattern does not favor snow over rain until at least February 10, and the European computer model continues to favor a snowy period in mid-February. As I mentioned yesterday and this morning on the Facebook group, I’m not sold on it just yet. The model has been advertising a snowy stretch in the 10-15 day period for a couple of weeks, but it has not come to fruition. We’ll see if this latest prediction keeps getting pushed further back into February over the next several days.
