Forecast Update: Fine RI weather / Showers flirt with E MA

[dcwsb inline=”true”]The RI weather will continue to be pretty nice Friday, but things will take a slight turn for the worse in SE MA – primarily on the Cape and Islands. A weak offshore storm should drift far enough north and west to throw some clouds are way in the afternoon. The clouds will be thinner the farther north and west you, so NW RI, NE CT, and Worcester County may wind up with a mostly sunny day. It will be mostly cloudy on the Cape and Islands, and from Providence to the Cape Cod Canal will see partly to mostly cloudy skies. The wind will be out of the northeast at 5-10 mph, and the high temperature should be 65-70 – coolest where it’s cloudiest.

Saturday should be the nicer of the two weekend days, with sunshine, a southerly breeze, and highs near 70 at the coast. It will be warmer inland, with the temperature reaching the mid 70s in many spots. Saturday night does not look as cool as some of the nights we’ve had this week. Lows will be in the 50s.

A few passing showers are possible Sunday as a cold front slips through. The best chance of rain is in the morning. I don’t expect enough rain to alter any sporting event schedules. Highs Sunday will be in the upper 60s to low 70s then turning cooler quickly in the evening.

A fall-like airmass will settle in on Monday. It will be mostly sunny, but cool, with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s.

Fred’s Weather Rating System

Starting today, look for the star rating system on the next day forecasts. I will be adding these stars to the 15 Second Forecast on rightweather.net, the Android app, and the iOS app. It’s a quick, easy way to get a read on what kind of day it will be. On the website, you’ll also have the chance to weigh in with your own rating on the weather – not the accuracy of the forecast!
