One more round of showers was moving into Southeastern New England around dawn on Sunday putting a damper on outdoor activities Sunday morning. The showers should be moving out of the picture by midday Sunday, with some clearing in the afternoon. It will be a seasonable day with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
Much cooler air will move in overnight as the sky continues to clear. The temperature will drop from the mid to upper 60s Sunday afternoon to the low to mid 40s by dawn on Monday. Clouds will develop on Monday in response to the chilly air aloft. The highs temperature will be near 60 with a gusty westerly breeze between 10-25 mph.
Monday night looks even chillier than Sunday night, with clear skies and lows ranging from the mid 30s inland to the low 40s near the coast. The wind will swing around to the north-northeast as a storm in the Atlantic Ocean scoots by well east of New England. Tuesday should be another dry, but unseasonably cool, day with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s under partly to mostly sunny skies.
It will get a bit milder on Wednesday as sunshine gives way to some late-day clouds. A weak frontal system will be in the vicinity of Southern New England late in the workweek. A few showers are possible late in the workweek, but it certainly does not look like a washout.
