There is a good chance the record will be broken during the afternoon. The temperature also reached 98° at TF Green at 1pm, just 2° shy of the record high set in 1977. Hartford was 4° off the record high temperature, and Worcester was 5° from the record high at 1pm. Barring a wind shift, the peak temperature should be observed between 2-4 pm.
