There was a refreshing change in the air Thursday morning with low temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s in most of Southern New England. The cooler weather was accompanied by cloudy skies and a few passing showers. The showers should become steadier by mid to late afternoon, and a period of steady rain is possible overnight as a storm moves up the coast.
The steadiest rain is likely to occur in RI and Eastern MA, where the hardest hit areas may get more than two inches of rain by mid-morning Friday. The storm will move fairly quickly, and drier weather is in the forecast for Friday afternoon.
The temperature will struggle to reach the low 70s on Thursday afternoon, and it will fall back into the upper 50s to low 60s with steadier rain and a 10-20 mph northeast breeze Thursday night.
