The sun managed to hang on in Southeastern New England through the day on Wednesday. It was another relatively cool day, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the 50s. It will not be quite as cool Wednesday night, with temperatures falling into the low to mid 60s under increasing clouds.
Thursday will be a somewhat unsettled day with plenty of clouds, and scattered showers and thunderstorms. It’s very difficult to pin down when and where the showers/storms may occur, and it’s likely they’ll be more prevalent in western Southern New England. Most of RI and SE MA may escape with dry weather most of the time. It will become quite muggy on Thursday, with dew points climbing through the 60s to near 70 by late in the day as a warm front pushes through. The high temperature will range from the mid 70s near the coast to the low 80s inland.
Thursday night looks mild and muggy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s with high humidity. There may be some mist and fog, too. An approaching cold front brings the threat of widespread showers and thunderstorms to Southern New England on Friday. Right now, the best chance of rain is in the afternoon and evening. It will be a very humid day with highs in the 70s to low 80s.
The cold front will move offshore by Saturday morning, and nice weather is in the forecast for the weekend. Highs will be in the 80s on Saturday with partly sunny skies and slight chance of a passing afternoon t-storm. It will turn less humid by late in the day. Sunday should be delightful with plenty of sunshine and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. The outlook for early next week is for decent weather. Hopefully, skies will stay clear and we’ll get a nice look at the Perseid meteor shower – the best of the year.
