Wednesday was cloudy and cool, but not as wet as anticipated in most of Southern New England. An area of rain and thunderstorms brushed by the south coast with light to moderate rain. Severe weather was confined to the Mid-Atlantic states, including New Jersey where a tornado warning was issued. Inland Southern New England did not see much rain through mid-afternoon. It was unseasonably cool, with the temperature hovering in the upper 60s to low 70s.
An approaching cold front may trigger a shower or thunderstorm through Tuesday evening before drier weather arrives late at night. Skies will clear around dawn Wednesday. The temperature will slip into the upper 50s to low 60s by late at night. Wednesday will be a bright, breezy, and dry day. It will be relatively cool, with highs in the low to mid 70s. The wind will be active out of the northwest at 15-25 mph with a few higher gusts. There will not be a hint of humidity as dew points drop into the 40s to low 50s.
You can expect clear and comfortably cool weather Wednesday night. The wind will relax to 5-10 mph, and the temperature will dip into the upper 40s in the countryside to mid 50s in the cities and near the coast. Thursday looks like a beauty, with highs in the mid to upper 70s under sunny skies. The wind will not be as active, with a 10-15 mph westerly breeze.
The fine weather is staying into the weekend. Both Friday and Saturday look mostly sunny and seasonable. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. A disturbance off the Mid-Atlantic coast may bring more clouds by Saturday night through Sunday, but, it looks like it will stay dry through the weekend.
