Very cool end to October in the Eastern US
The first 2/3 of October has been warmer than normal in the Eastern United States, but a major pattern change will lead to one of the coldest last ten days of October in recent memory. Chilly air plunging out of Central Canada will invade the Eastern US through the end of the month. The coldest air relative to normal will be in the Midwest. From Minnesota to the Tennessee Valley will be 7-11°F colder than normal. The temperature in New England will be 2-3°F colder than normal. While chilly, it will not be enough to offset the warm start to the month. New England will be one of the only parts of the country to average warmer than normal for the month.
