Cooler Sunday; Midweek Storm Likely

The weather will turn colder on Sunday after the brief spring fling on Saturday. Highs were in the 50s in most spots on Saturday with partly to mostly sunny skies. The temperature will fall into the mid to upper 20s by dawn on Sunday. Daylight Saving Time began at 2 am, and the sunset will be around 6:45 pm on Sunday. It will be mostly sunny, breezy, and cool on Sunday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s.

Clouds will increase Sunday evening as a weak disturbance arrives from the west. Snow showers are possible late Sunday night and early Monday. The temperature will fall into the mid to upper 20s Sunday night. The chance of snow showers continues through Monday morning. There should be minimal accumulation, and mainly on the grass. It will become partly cloudy Monday afternoon with highs near 40.

Tuesday looks relatively mild. Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s with partly to mostly sunny skies. The quiet weather will not continue in the midweek. A storm moving from the Midwest to the Northeast will bring rain and snow to New England. There is a better chance of rain than snow in Southeastern New England because the storm will track close to the coast. Rain will likely develop Wednesday, and it could be heavy at times into Wednesday night. The temperature will range from the mid 30s inland to low 40s at the coast.

Colder air will wrap in behind the storm as it moves by Wednesday night. The rain may change to snow, especially inland late at night. This part of the forecast is rather uncertain, and we will have more details early in the week. In a worst-case scenario, there could be accumulating snow late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. It will be blustery and cold on Thursday, with temperatures hovering in the 20s.
