Forget the lamb, the entire month of March was a big lion in Southern New England. The last day of the month proved to be a fitting finish, with occasional rain, snow, and sleet, and highs in the mid to upper 30s with a fresh northerly breeze. The storm that is responsible for the wet weather going back to the weekend will finally move away from New England early Tuesday. The weather looks much nicer for the first day of April. It will be mostly sunny with highs near 50. There will be a 10 mph northerly breeze.
The weather in the middle of the week looks ok. Wednesday and Thursday will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 50s and lows in the 30s. A disturbance will approach Southern New England late in the workweek, and showers are a threat during the first part of the weekend. Clouds will thicken on Friday, and showers are possible Friday evening. Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s on Friday.
The best chance of rain this weekend is Friday night into Saturday morning. In a best-case scenario, the showers will end early Saturday, and cool air lagging behind the front will not arrive until Saturday night. If that happens, the high may reach 60° with sunshine on Saturday afternoon. The speed of that disturbance will be key to the weekend forecast. Right now, Sunday looks dry and cooler, with highs struggling to reach 50.
