A windy rain storm will move through Southern New England Monday night into Tuesday morning. Rain will develop around 8 pm, and may be heavy at times overnight. A passing thunderstorm is possible. It will be windy and mild, with temperatures ranging from the low to mid 40s inland to the low 50s near the coast. The wind will gust over 40 mph on Cape Cod, and to 30-40 mph near Buzzards Bay and at the RI coast.
Shower will linger into Tuesday morning. The morning commute may be slowed by rain and big puddles on the roads. The storm will likely bring 0.75-1.5″ of rain to Southeastern New England. Showers will end by mid to late morning, and some sunny breaks are likely in the afternoon. It will be a mild day, with highs in the mid to upper 50s – even with mostly cloudy skies.
The weather looks quiet in the middle of the week. Skies will become mainly clear Tuesday night, with the temperature falling into the mid to upper 30s by dawn on Wednesday. Wednesday should be partly to mostly sunny, and breezy, with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Wednesday night looks clear and chilly, with lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Thursday will also be partly to mostly sunny. The wind will shift to the southwest in the afternoon. Highs near the coast will be in the low 50s. It may reach the mid to upper 50s inland. At this point, the weather looks a little unsettled Friday and Saturday. A stalled cold front will bring scattered rain showers Friday afternoon and Friday night. It’s possible the shower threat will linger into Saturday. Highs will be in the 50s on Saturday, with a better chance of dry weather in the afternoon. Sunday will be partly sunny, breezy, and mild, with highs inland near 60, and in the 50s at the coast.
