Occasional rain will continue Thursday morning as the system slowly moves through the area. Many places will receive more than an inch of rain for the storm, and some spots could pick up more than two inches of heavier downpours develop Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The National Weather Service has issued an Areal Flood Watch for most of Southern New England. Street and stream flooding is possible if more than 1.5 inches of rain falls.

Showers may linger into Thursday afternoon, especially near the coast and in Southeastern Massachusetts. There will be a 10-25 mph southerly breeze, and the temperature will rise into the upper 50s to low 60s. The rain threat ends early Thursday evening, and skies will be mostly cloudy Thursday night. It will not be a cool night, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

The weather looks a lot better to end the work week and start the weekend. Friday will feature a blend of clouds and sunshine, and highs in the low to mid 60s. There will be a 10-20 mph westerly breeze. Saturday also looks partly cloudy with highs in the low 60s. It will be cooler near the coast with an onshore breeze.

An approaching cold front could trigger showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. The best chance of rain is in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s. It will be fairly quiet, but a bit cool for early May at the start of next week. Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s on Monday and Tuesday.
